Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
Kelsie was rescued from a trailer park home in SC when her family realized that their neighbors were getting enjoyment out of letting their dogs attack her. Her family contacted a southern rescue and asked for help finding Kelsie a new home. Kelsie was removed from her home immediately and taken to a veterinarian for care. She had wounds to her right ear, and her back, and after she was treated and healed, she was spayed, micro-chipped, and given all her vaccinations. While in her SC foster home, it was quickly evident that she is a very sweet, friendly, adaptable little girl! We have no idea what Kelsie's true heritage is, but she resembles a 'mini' golden labrador retriever. She is around 8-9 months old, only 30 pounds, and a bit on the short side. Kelsie loves to play with other dogs, and is fine with cats. She is a happy girl who loves everyone! She is a wonderful companion on car trips and is house trained. She did a stint for a couple of days as a service dog and did amazingly well; she was calm even while walking around WalMart, and lay down quietly at a restaurant. She can be very laidback, but picks up the tempo when she is with a doggie friend, and she enjoys having fun! Kelsie needs a physically fenced yard, and would love to have a doggie playmate. She loves taking walks on the leash. Kelsie will make a wonderful, loving companion for you and your family! As an added note, Kelsey and Buckley are being fostered together and love each other. They are great companions and playmates. If a family is interested in adopting two dogs, this pair would bring so much joy and happiness to your lives. If you are interested in adopting Kelsie, please submit an application at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms. Kelsie's adoption donation is $300.00.
