This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
Even though Sandy looks like "Grumpy Cat" she is the farthest thing from it! She is a friendly, affectionate, happy little lap cat who gets along well with everyone. Sandy ended up in a kill shelter because her owner had to go into a nursing home. She has been loved and cared for her whole life and is looking for a new loving home to call her own. She has quite the personality and her favorite spot to sleep is on top of a pillow! She is very outgoing, and will climb right up on to your lap! She has a wonderful personality and a beautiful soft coat. She gets along well with other cats as well as dogs and children! She will make a wonderful addition to one very lucky adopter!
Sandy is spayed, has tested negative for FeLv/FIV, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $175
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
