We are pretty sure that Victor is the World's Friendliest Cat! He just loves everyone he meets - kids, dogs, cats, mischievious kittens and toddlers - Victor makes quick friends with everybody. He's a definite lap cat and loves to be held and pet. He's cuddly, playful and absolutely gorgeous. We think that part of the reason Victor is so happy and friendly is that he realizes how close he came to not being here with us today.  Our DPR volunteer rescued him from a high-kill shelter literally as they were taking him to be euthanized. He came into the shelter with a severe head tilt and walking in tight circles. The shelter staff assumed he had some kind of head trauma and were taking him to be put down. Our volunteer however, said it looked like many cats she has seen that have a severe ear infection which affects their equilibrium and balance. She took him to the vet where an ear infection was confirmed and was treated with ear drops. After a couple days, he was walking straight, and after a couple weeks, you'd never know he had anything wrong! He is a very sweet and loving affectionate boy, and we are so thankful that we took a chance on him!
Victor is not shy at all - he loves everyone he meets and is extremely friendly. He especially loves little kids and is very tolerant and loving towards the toddlers at his foster house. Just an all around great boy! He loves to cuddle, he likes his belly rubbed, he runs to greet you at the door. If you stop petting him, he will gently put his paw on your hand to urge you to continue. He will play with toys, but he's equally happy to just cuddle. We really can't say enough great things about him!

DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption: 

Initial vet visit 
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers 
Monthly flea/tick preventative 
Ear mite preventative 
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
