This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
We love Norman! He arrived at DPR with the rest of the "Secret Life of Pets" kitties who were all rescued from a high kill souther shelter shortly before they were scheduled to be euthanized due to lack of space at the shelter.
Norman is such an amazing boy, we honestly can't say enough great things about him. He is being fostered with 10 little kittens, and he acts like the dad to all of them - grooming them and cuddling with them. He gets along so well with other cats, dogs and kids! You can usually find him perched on the top of the cat tree supervising everybody. He is mellow and relaxed. He loves to be pet and held.
Norman has a moderate heart murmur, and he had a full cardiac workup and thankfully he was given a clean bill of health and the murmur is nothing to be concerned about. He does not need to be on any medication or anything. He's a beautiful cat with an exceptionally sweet personality. He'd make a great addition to one very lucky family!
He is neutered, has tested negative for FeLv/FIV, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $100
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
