Lap Cat! Beautiful Clarabelle will snuggle up on your lap for as long as you let her. This 4.5 month old kitten was rescued from a kill shelter in NC, and it seems like she may have encountered some not-so-nice people in her past. When you initially go to pet her, she flinches like she is sure you are going to hurt her. She doesn't run away, and once you start petting her and she realizes that you aren't going to hurt her, she scoots closer and closer to you and then climbs up onto your lap and starts purring. It is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. This sweet girl does not have a mean bone in her body and all she wants is for someone to be kind to her. She gets along really well with all the 11 other kittens and adults that she is currently being fostered with.
She is spayed, tested negative for FeLv/FIV/HW, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $150

This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
*Please note - due to COVID-19, we will not be able to do on-site meet and greets. Adoptive families can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone ordo a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. All paperwork can be done online and adoption fees can be paid by Paypal. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
