Meet Uncle Eddie! This beautiful orange boy was rescued from a hoarding situation in NC. DPR stepped up and took 12 of the cats. All of them were loved at their previous home, and are healthy and fully vetted. Uncle Eddie gets along really well with all the other cats he is being fostered with, especially the ones who came from his previous home (Harry, Marv, Clark Griswold, and Uncle Frank). You can usually find him cuddled up with one of his cat friends. He is sweet and calm. It took him a little while to settle in to his foster home here (understandably since he has been through a lot of changes in the past few weeks!) but he has come out of his shell and is a very loving boy. He enjoys being pet and is now coming to greet us at the door!
He is neutered, tested negative for FeLv/FIV/HW, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $150
If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms
This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
*Please note - due to COVID-19, we will not be able to do on-site meet and greets. Adoptive families can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. All paperwork can be done online and adoption fees can be paid by Paypal. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
