Zora is a BIG beautiful girl! She has extremely long fluffy hair and a sweet affectionate personality to go along with her good looks. She was nearly 20 pounds when we first got her, but she has been on a diet and is steading getting to a healthy weight! She arrived to us with her hair extremely matted and in desperate need of a dental surgery. She must have been so very uncomfortable with her painful matted hair and her severely infected teeth. She ended up needing to have all of her molars extracted, she just has the tiny teeth in the very front remaining. While she was under anesthesia, the vet gave her a lion haircut. Her hair's already starting to grow in nicely, and her skin and hair are beautiful now! She looks absolutely adorable and can really pull off the shaved look! Now that she is on a good path to a healthy weight and is much more comfortable and happy, she is ready for her forever home! She will need an adopter who will be committed to brushing her daily and/or regularly taking her to the groomer so that this does not happen again. She will also need an adopter who will monitor her diet and help her reach and maintain a healthy weight. Zora is a very friendly girl who loves to be pet and giving headbutts. She enjoys hanging out on her scratching post. She is very mellow and easy going. She gets along well with most cats and well-mannered dogs. She is such a sweet affectionate girl who will gently paw your leg if you stop petting her. We just love Zora and we know you will too! Zora is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is up to date on shots, and litter box trained! If you are interested in adopting Zora, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms Adoption fee is: $200 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - due to COVID-19, we will not be able to do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. * DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption: Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older) Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older) Distemper vaccination SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm Broad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
