Introducing...Ted Lasso! This loveable little Siamese kitten is just as sweet as they come! He is an extra special guy who will be undergoing surgery soon. He has Eyelid Agensis which means his eyelids did not form properly during development in the womb. He is scheduled to meet with the surgeon on 2/15 and then will undergo corrective surgery. His eyesight is fine, but because he does not have an eyelid margin, the remaining fur around his eye rubs against the delicate cornea. This causes pain, discomfort, irritation, and can cause ulcers and eye infections. We are giving him eye ointment and eye drops several times a day to keep him comfortable and prevent infection while he waits for his surgery, which will correct this issue and make him much more comfortable!  In the meantime, he loves to play, cuddle and be pet and held. He has the most amazing personality - he loves everyone he meets, including kids, cats and dogs. He's an amazing little guy! He will be available for adoption after he is healed from his surgery. For now, he is available for sponsorship, and we are accepting applications for him.

This cat is altered, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is up to date on shots, and litter box trained!

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - due to COVID-19, we will not be able to do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:

Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
