Meet Tannenbaum! O Tannenbaum - he is just so fuzzy and adorable, just look at that face! He has a very unique thick coat that is soft and fuzzy. He's very friendly and outgoing and will put his front legs up on the cage to greet you when you walk in the room. He is very vocal and loves when it's time for fruits and veggies. Can you believe that Tannenbaum was found as a stray?! Poor thing, someone must have dumped him outside in this freezing weather, but thankfully he was found and brought in to the shelter. His thick fuzzy coat must have kept him warm, and we don't think he was out there for very long because he was in very good shape (healthy weight, good coat condition etc) when he was found. He was clearly somebody's pet at some point because he is very comfortable being handled, picked up and petted. He's as sweet as can be!
One of our partner shelters reached out for our help because they were overflowing with guinea pigs. We pulled several from the shelter and they are ready for adoption! 

All our guinea pigs at DPR receive a wellness check by our vet as well as a nail trim. 

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
