Meet Peacock! How stunning is she?! This gorgeous fluffy girl has such a pretty feathery long coat with such pretty coloring. She gets along great with all the other cats she is being fostered with. She has come a long way in her foster home, she was very shy at first, but after she realized she was in a safe place, she has been coming out and actually seeking out pets and affection. She was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina, and she will just need an understanding home where she's given the time she needs to adjust. She is a sweet girl with endless potential! We are so proud of her for how far she has come, and we know she'll make a wonderful addition to one very special home! Check out her cute videos :)
This cat is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and Leukemia and is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations.

This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
*Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
