Meet Maximus Decimus Meridius! That is a big name for a baby guinea pig! But he's an epic piggie and he needed an epic name. He's a super handsome tri-colored guy, and his right ear has been completely sliced in half - we have no idea how it happened, but we assume it was in an awesome Gladiator battle. This little dude is about 5 months old and was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. He traveled up to DPR along with a whole bunch of cats and kittens, and handled the transport like a pro! He's very sweet and loving. He enjoys his daily fresh fruits and veggies and runs in circles around his cage when he hears it coming! Guinea pigs love having companions, so we'd love if he could have a guinea pig buddy in his new home. Maximus will make a wonderful addition to your home!

 All our guinea pigs see the vet for a wellness visit and nail trim prior to adoption. 

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
