Purebred Persian kittens!! WOW! We don't come across healthy, purebred, Persian kittens very often in rescue, but here they are! We are happy to introduce Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars! These two kittens are about 8 months old and were surrendered to our vet in NC by a breeder who decided he did not want them. Our vet contacted us, and we were happy to take them in. They have amazing personalities and are as sweet as can be. Definite lap cats! They love the other cats and kittens they are being fostered with and they are wonderful with children. Bruno will sit on our 7 year olds lap for as long as she'll let him, just soaking in all the love and pets. They are friendly and social and even get along with the dog. They have the longest most luxurious fur and love to be pet and brushed. We had a professional groomer shave them down due to some matting and to be more comfortable with the warmer weather approaching. These are high maintenance cats who will need to be regularly groomed, brushed, and have their eyes wiped. They are a bonded pair, and we are hoping to find them a home where they can be adopted together.
Comparable cats in this region are being sold by breeders for $2,000-$7,500 per cat, and these prices include very minimal vetting. We had Taylor and Bruno spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated against distemper and rabies, dewormed, tested negative for FIV/Felv, on they are on flea/tick/ear mite preventative and were professionally groomed. Their adoption fee (of $750 per cat) will help cover the vet bills of other cats and small animals we have recently rescued who required extensive surgeries.

This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
*Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up "curb side". Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
