Meet Nudacris! He is a hairless breed of guinea pig called a "Skinny Pig"! He is completely bald except for a little tuft of hair on the bridge of his nose. He is a baby, only about 5 months old, and is still very tiny! He has a big personality though! He is very vocal and dramatic (especially if you touch him with cold hands!!) He is very active and loves to run around and play. He loves to snuggle in his cozy fleeze houses and sometimes wears a sweater to keep warm. DPR was asked to take him because his litter mates were picking on him and he was completely covered in scrapes and cuts (see picture for how sad his skin was when he arrived!) He is the sweetest little guy, and it breaks our heart that he was being bullied. His skin has healed beautifully and he's been enjoying being pampered at his foster home. Skinny pigs eat and drink more than regular guinea pigs because they need the extra energy to stay warm (which means they also poop more too!) Since they have no fur, they require a higher room temperature of 72 - 75 degrees to stay comfortable. Would you like to provide Nudacris with a warm loving home?!

Check out his cute video at the bottom of his website!

All our guinea pigs see the vet for a wellness visit and nail trim prior to adoption.

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

If you are interested in adopting, pleas fill out a "Guinea Pig Application"   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR guinea pigs receive a vet check up prior to adoption!

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
