Meet Jack and Kitty! These two adorable ferrets are SO super sweet and affectionate! They are about a year old. As luck would have it, these two ferrets came to DPR at the exact same time, from two different places, and instantly became the best of friends! It was meant to be! Jack was abandoned at the front door of a local Petco, and Kitty was surrendered when her owners could no longer care for her. She arrived extremely ematiated, but she is now at a nice healthy weight! They are always snuggling together in their hammock and running around the room playing and wrestling. They are SO happy!! They have become very bonded, so we are looking for a home where they can be adopted together.
Kitty is a petite little thing and loves nothing more than to explore. Jack is twice the size and is a bit of a chub. He keeps us laughing with his silly antics and comical incoordination. He'll noodle around on his belly with his back legs straight out. His preferred way to exit the cage is to fall dramatically backwards onto the crash pad we put below the cage for this exact reason! Kitty just gracefully jumps down (but where's the fun in that?!) They both get zoomies and love to run around the room, chasing each other around and playing. We've made them digging bins to play in - one with uncooked pasta and the other with shredded paper. They have a blast digging around in them! When they aren't playing, you can find them snoozing somewhere comfy and cozy. Kitty prefers the hammocks. Jack will snuggle up with Kitty on the hammock, or burrow under the blankets. They are both very snuggly with their human friends after they've had their play time. Kitty likes to burrow into your bathrobe or sweater and take a nap while you watch a movie. Jack is just happy to be on your lap or chest. Both of them are extremely gentle and never bite. They are wonderful with the kids at their foster home (and all the neighborhood kids who come over often to play with them). They love the dog and the cats at the foster home as well. They actually play with the dog - they'll hid behind or under a piece of furniture and when the dog comes by they'll leap out and then run around. They also think her tail is really funny when it wags and will pounce on it. The dog loves them too, and they'll go back and forth chasing each other. They are completely fearless little creatures! They are very comfortable being picked up and held and carried around. They're doing well with going potty in the litter box too! They are hysterical and have been such a blast to foster! We love them and we know you will too!
They are both spayed/neutered and descented. They saw our vet and got a clean bill of health. They are up to date on their rabies shot as well as their distemper shot and on flea/tick/ear mite preventative.

This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the ferret's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the ferret. You can pick your ferret up "curb side". Ferrets can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *
DPR ferrets receive a vet check up prior to adoption!
We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
