Kaylee came to us from a SC shelter in early February. She was found running in the wooded area around the shelter. She was terrified, thin and very pregnant. We have no idea of her past but based on what we have come to know about her we suspect she was either used as a breeding dog for someone or was just a dog someone had that was never part of a family. It took several weeks for Kaylee to relax and learn how to live in a home. Walking through doorways was frightening for her which we suspect was because she was never allowed to walk into a house. TV's, hair dryers, dish washers all scared her - but she is blossoming into a wonderful girl! Once she was done raising her litter of 10 puppies she became part of her foster home's dog pack. They have taught her well and she continues to learn how to be a happy, loving dog each day. There are tail wags all the time now. She shows her excitement when her foster mom comes home from work and she loves playing with her foster brother, a German Shepard who has taken her under his wings. We are looking for a home for Kaylee that has another dog that can continue to show her the way. Though she is very good meeting people both young and not so young, she would be much more comfortable in a home without lots of activity. We also will require a fenced in yard for Kaylee who is not yet good on a leash. Because she just gave birth in February she is not able to be spayed until mid to late May.
