Beagle : : Female : : Young : : Small
Meet Joey. Her family dumped her at the Rockbridge, VA animal shelter about 2 weeks before she was due to give birth. They claimed she was a stray but the shelter staff had little doubt they were her owners. Thankfully we had room to bring her to DPR and 3 days later, August 9th, she gave birth to 6 beautiful pups. Joey is a tiny little girl - around 22 lbs and loves everyone and everything. She is very submissive to the other dogs in the house but is oh so willing to play with them. She does well with cats too! She is housetrained and crate trained. Worried about her being a Beagle barker - no way with this girl. Other then letting you know someone is at the door she isn't a barker. Now that her pups have been adopted she is coming out of the Mommy mode and is showing us her playful side. She loves toys but is always willing to share. She loves to snuggle on the couch. She goes right to her crate when it's time for her foster Mom to go to work. At night she sleeps with her other foster siblings in the living room with no problem - usually curled up on the couch. Everyone she meets is a good friend. She loves to be outside as well as inside. We suspect she was once kept as an outside dog with a dog house as she loves to sit on top of things looking out yonder - it could be the back of the couch or top of the wood pile. She is doing wonderfully on the leash. She is a just a great overall girl waiting for her forever home. If you are interested in further information on Joey please submit an application at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms Adoption Donation: $175.00 plus $50.00 refundable altering deposit (she cannot be spayed until December due to giving birth).
