Like most Australian Cattle Dog , Katie has a quick intelligence and a bit of an independent streak. She responds well to structured training, particularly if it is interesting and challenging. Australian Cattle Dogs were originally bred to herd by nipping at the heels and may have a tendency to do the same with running children. Australian Cattle Dogs form a strong attachment to  their owners and can be protective of them and their possessions.

I am is easy to groom and maintain. I came from a shelter in NE Texas; I am a blue merle and approx. 5-6 yrs old (Australian Cattle Dogs have a typical lifespan of 12-14 yrs). Katie is super friendly with people. She loves to get all the attention... Outside she is extremely interested in birds and squirrels and loves to chase them around the yard. Her perfect home would be with someone looking for a less active dog.  She doesn't seem to know how to play, rather she prefers to lay by you on her back awaiting her tummy rubs.
