Hi there! I'm Chewbacca. I am a 3 -year old male Chocolate Spaniel/Corgi mix. I am a very smart and friendly young boy who wound up at a kill shelter. The shelter staff went out of their way to find an animal rescue group to save me as my time at the shelter was up and I was going to be euthanized. Luckily, DPR took me in.
I aim to please: I walk nicely on a leash, get along well with other friendly dogs. In my foster mommy's yard, I must admit, I'm all about chasing birds, squirrels or any other small animal, but when I was face-to-face with my foster mom's cat, I did not do anything--was just curious. I like to have things to do so if you leave me in the yard too long, I'll help dig holes for you--which could come in handy during bulb-planting season. I could use a little work on my basic obedience commands, but I'm a quick learner and want to do the right thing. I LOVE people and children--and am learning not to jump up on them--I can't help it--they're great!. If you're looking for a smart dog with lots of love to give and much potential, I'm your man!
